Centuries later, these ideas and works, including Greek texts, travelled across civilisations through translation and commentary. In Florence, they helped nourish the intellectual world of the Renaissance.

Planetary Humanism begins from one reality: humanity shares an interdependent world. It places human dignity in dialogue with cultural plurality, ecological responsibility and a common destiny, inviting civilisations to shape the future together while preserving their distinct identities.

The Florence Humanism Dialogue is an initiative of the World Humanism Forum. It brings public leaders, entrepreneurs, scholars, artists and thinkers into settings created for candid exchange. Its premise is simple: dialogue needs time, trust and the freedom to speak beyond official positions.

The Dialogue brings Florence into a new encounter with the Arab and Islamic world. Neither civilisation is treated as an object of study. Both enter as equal protagonists, carrying distinct perspectives, shared questions and a common stake in the future.

Bayt al-Hikma is the intimate international expression of this vision. A carefully composed group gathers around one table, where hospitality, personal exchange, beauty and reflection create the conditions for dialogue.
